My daughter and I went to the show closing night. It was marvelous. Wonderful show!
We enjoyed this production. It had so much talent and we sang along. However, they destroyed the character of Pharaoh. Instead of sticking to the brilliant original "Elvis"type, they made him Queen's Freddie Mercury, (not a good one) and over sexualized his whole scene. It was awful, couldn't understand the lyrics, and the audience was not having it. Very unfortunate creative decision.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was a wonderfully crafted show. The Energy was palpable, the choreography was sharp and well executed, the vocals were outstanding and the costumes were bright and fitted the scenes well. It was a very impressive show with so many excellent actors from Louisville. The kids were so fun and full of great moves and vocals. Well done!
This was a good community theater production that unfortunately did not live up to the ticket costs or the spectacle we expect from a Joseph production.
I had the pleasure of attending a local production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,"and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The cast, predominantly composed of local artists, truly brought the story to life with their exceptional talent and professionalism. Each performer brought a unique energy to their roles, making the characters vivid and engaging. It was evident that they were passionate about their craft, and their enthusiasm was contagious throughout the performance. The musical itself is a classic, known for its catchy tunes and heartwarming storyline, and this production did not disappoint. From the lively ensemble numbers to the modern adaptations, every moment was filled with energy and emotion. The audience was captivated from the first note to the final curtain call. Overall, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"was a joyous spectacle that left a smile on everyone's face. It's the kind of show that not only entertains but also uplifts your spirits, leaving you feeling good long after you've left the theater. If you have the chance to see a production like this in your area, I highly recommend it for a fun and heartening theatrical experience.
Loved the show and was so impressed at the amount of talent present in the performance. So proud to be from an area that is filled with so many wonderful musicians and dancers.
The performance was high energy and terrific engagement with audience. Only issue was some sound system challenges with microphones and/or speakers.
Joseph was fabulous. Liked having 3 narrators. Did not like what used to be Elvis-like musical number. I thought it was way too sexually explicit for young audience. Rest of the production was well done and lots of fun. Costumes were great
I have seen all of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musicals multiple times over 30 years in London West End theaters and on Broadway; so when I say this production approaches professional level at times, I speak from experience. The singing, lights, set, costumes and sound is good, but the choreography sells it especially realizing this is a local, community based semi-professional group that had only 5 weeks to rehearse. Emerson Taylor as the young Narrator #3 gives moments of show stopping performance and is clearly on a career path. I saw it the one night 17 yr old T Russel, understudy for the role of Joseph had his debut. He too is on his way to becoming a professional. All in all, if you want an evening of joyous, fun that will have you clapping your hands and tapping your feet this is the production that will send you home smiling with tunes still ringing in your ears!
