About

MICHEL'LE IN CONCERT:

With her sweet voice and sassy moves, former Dr. Dre protégé Michel'le is equal parts nice and nasty -- a combination she named on her hit 1989 single "Nicety". It's been more than 15 years since she's released an album, but rumors of new material persist as she enters her second season on the cast of the hit show R&B Divas: Los Angeles. Michel'le always stuns in concert with powerful renditions of everything from her breakout hit "No More Lies" to her 2011 single "Free to Love", and she'll continue to wow on future dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Compton, CA, Michel'le made her debut in 1987 as the featured vocalist on World Class Wreckin' Cru's 1987 hit "Turn Off the Lights". She signed to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records shortly after, and in 1989 she released her self-titled debut record produced by her then-boyfriend Dr. Dre. The album quickly went platinum as lead single "No More Lies" shot to No. 2 on the R&B chart, followed a few months later by the Top 40 hit "Nicety". Despite the album's commercial success Michel'le didn't release another album until 1998's Hung Jury, taking time off to adjust to a label shakeup and her split with Dr. Dre. In 2011 she released "Freedom of Love," her first new material in 13 years and a preview of what fans can expect on her highly anticipated third album.

  • A good time for people 45 and over

by Guru on 6/16/24Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 3 out of 5

It was an opportunity for us Gen X'ers to enjoy a good safe outing consisting of good music, good vibes and and ample free parking. Cudos to the Maple house Amphitheatre.

  • Less talking, more singing

by IJJ on 6/16/24Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 3 out of 5

I was excited about seeing both Cherrell and Michel'le, however; that excitement turned into disappointment with all the talking vs singing. Cherrell spent most of her time letting others sing and Michel'le did more talking than singing. The best part was the DJ getting the crowd hyped. l

Incredible event! Michel’le was amazing! Cherrelle was a gem! 90s nostalgia was in full effect. We had a blast!!!

  • I could have stayed home to hear her sing from a track.

I think she's over stayed her relevance at this point.

Enjoyed seeing these artist again! They are apart of my musical background. Miche'le is still delivering and her talent is going strong. Cherrell, not so much.

  • Michel'le Live at Inkwell NYC

by Kai on 2/20/24The INKwell Harbor-Club Rooftop - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I purchased my ticket just a day before the event. The show was at a venue that I've been to many times previously. I would consider it more of a nightclub appearance than an actual concert because its in a club. The crowd was a 40+ grown and sexy type crowd, which is my type of venue. They had nice 2 for 1 drink specials throughout the evening. Michel'le looked very nice. She's very pretty in person. She was dressed very stylishly. More importantly she sounded great. If you're familiar with her music you know that her speaking voice is drastically different from her speaking voice( little girly like) Its a condition that she was born with. Her singing voice is powerful and she belted out them hits very well. She sang, Before you turn off the lights ( World Class Wrecking Crew) No more lies, Nicety, Something in my heart, and the hook, snippets of a few other songs that she sang on for Death Row artists. Her performance was a very nice overall. It was money well spent.

Michel'le was as beautiful as her voice. She showed up and showed out. Her voice is strong like TURKISH Coffee and creamy velvet like Lindor Chocolate. She is a must see in concert.
