Based on true events, NEWSIES tells the captivating story of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up to the most powerful men in New York. It's a rousing tale about fighting for what's right…and staying true to who you are.

NEWSIES was brought to the stage by an award-winning creative team. It features a score by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) and Jack Feldman (The Lion King II: Simba's Pride) and a book by Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), with choreography by Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific) and direction by Jeff Calhoun (Big River).

    Newsies was an incredible production. The dancing was amazing and so was the singing. This is a must see production. It was fun and held your interest the entire time. The best part was this was a true story and how paper boys stood their ground. I would definitely see Newsies again.

    Newsies was one of my favorite movies growing up, so when I found out it had been turned into a Broadway play the only thing on my mind was, when am I going to see it! I love the way the songs were rewritten I love how they changed certain aspects of the plot, like making Katherine more than just a love interest for Jack, they've made her a whole and wonderful character. The Tour Cast was phenomenal and everything I could have hoped for, they took these characters I adored from childhood and made them even more amazing. The dancing was astounding, every movement was just amazing to see.

    Had a friend who saw NY production & raved about it, so looked forward to Newsies. No memorable songs, average voices but the dancing was great. Movie was better story line. Not the best value for $$$.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon watching Newsies! The play was very energetic - with amazing choreography! We really loved the sets - and the ease everyone moved around up and down and around in them,

    What a wonderful show. You will be hard pressed to find a more energetic and uplifting performance. The cast was great and those boys just knock themselves out for the audience. Everyone left the theater with smiling faces. Usually a matinee performance has a more conservative audience, but we were lucky enough to have the balcony filled with 8th graders who added enthusiasm for the many show stopping numbers. If you want to be uplifted during this Christmas season, buy yourself a ticket and go. Oh, and big kudos to the Sound Engineer. This is the first performance I've seen in ages where the sound was balanced perfectly. We could clearly hear ( in the Loge # every word the cast was saying and singing # what good is a performance if you have no idea what they are saying) and during the dance numbers the volume of the music was spot on! Thank you for that.
