RICKY DILLARD IN CONCERT:

Gospel icon Ricky Dillard continues to lift spirits and move feet with his gospel-meets-dance sound and exhilarating live performances. Often backed by a full gospel choir at his live shows, Dillard elevates his beloved tracks to a whole new level with his energetic conducting and awe-inspiring voice. Whether he's singing praises on "Amazing" or helping fans to see "The Light", Dillard never fails to inspire faith and love on his must-see concert tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Chicago-born Ricky Dillard was immersed in gospel culture from an early age, performing and then directing the youth choir at his church. After singing with the Southern California Community Choir and Brooklyn's Institutional Radio Choir, he began releasing his own recordings in the early '90s. He made his album debut in 1991 with The Promise, which featured a variety of gospel standards sung in collaboration with his New Generation Chorale. A string of popular albums followed, including several dance music and R&B-influenced albums like 1996's Worked It Out. Dillard marked his 20th anniversary as a recording artist in 2011 with the release of Keep Living, another impressive collection of faith-based songs that featured stellar vocal contributions from notable female gospel singers Jermia Cannon and Renee Crutchins. A humble and inspiring performer, Ricky Dillard continues to promote faith through music on perennial tours.

  • Sound system ruined concert

by Green on 5/13/24Rating: 1 out of 5

I just remembered why I haven’t been to a gospel concert in years. Sound mixers seem to misunderstand the balance between vocalists and instruments. Gospel is about good news which means the singers’ message should be heard. The sound was over amplified and you could barely make out the songs much less the words. There were excellent singers on the bill. The Clark sisters prevailed in spite of, but there were times that their sound was obscured. Dillard’s powerful choir railed against the horribly unbalanced system. The only time they were discernible was when they sang “Lifter of My Head”. Unfortunately, time got away and we were denied a full set as apparently things had to halt at 8:00 pm and the choir stopped and exited the stage mid song—at 7:59. I don’t know where that sound guy came from- but if it is included with the venue, ever book a concert there again. If the sound people were hired, never use them again. How do u get those 4 hours back? Silver lining- “Lifter of My Head”, although abbreviated.

The show was truly uplifting. I felt the presence of the LORD was really there! Patrick Riddick and his group were outstanding! Denise Emmett soloist...what an amazing voice and gift from GOD! The opening with Patrick's group was a concert of its own! Ricky Dillard was simply amazing! I applaud his energy and singing for the LORD. He is truly bless and really know how to get an audience praising GOD! Ministering to the audience was an added bonus,,,,comical at times but the truth! Pleasant Grove Baptist Choir was also great and truly enjoyed the honor to participate with Ricky Dillard. Not to forget the musicians....they were also excellent. I really enjoyed myself and worshiping with Ricky Dillard. I am so glad I was there!
