About

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White first rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but now as a chart-topping Grammy-nominated comedian and a feature film actor, Ron White has established himself as a star in his own right. White has always been a classic storyteller. His stories relay tales from his real life, ranging from growing up in a small town in Texas to sharing stories of his daily life to becoming one of the most successful comedians in America. He has sold over 14 million albums (solo and with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour), been nominated for two Grammys, and has consistently been one of the top grossing stand up comedians on tour in America.

Ron White began performing comedy in 1986 and was quickly opening for legendary comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. While eventually making the rounds as a comedy club headliner, in 2000, White was asked to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. The show toured for over three years to sold-out audiences in over 270 cities and grossed more than $35 million. In 2003, Warner Brothers filmed the show, Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie for a theatrical/TV/DVD/CD release. The film premiered as the most-watched movie in Comedy Central's history. In 2005, the video Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again was filmed and released on TV and DVD/CD.

In November of 2003, White released his breakthrough comedy CD Drunk In Public followed by his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad. The special had the highest viewership for a Sunday program in Comedy Central history. The DVD version reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. White's second one-hour special You Can't Fix Stupid aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers, making it the third largest audience in Comedy Central's history and the #1 show on primetime basic cable. The CD reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and remained there for 9 consecutive weeks. This success also earned White his first Grammy nomination. Ron received his second Grammy nod for the show Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road. In June 2006, Penguin Books released Ron's first book Ron "Tater Salad" White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, which landed him on the New York Times Best Seller List. In 2009, Ron released his 3rd album Behavioral Problems, which reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. In 2013 Ron's 4th album, A Little Unprofessional, also reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ron White partnered with Netflix to release his most recent effort- the highly successful comedy special, "If You'd Quit Listening, I'd Shut Up."

As an actor, Ron White has had supporting roles in the major theatrical films Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. He also had a principal role in Jayne Mansfield's Car (written/directed by Billy Bob Thornton). He was a co-Executive Producer of Bridegroom, a Linda Bloodworth-Thomason documentary, which debuted at the 2013 NYC Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award. In 2016, Ron White's acting talents were showcased alongside Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots, in music-industry veteran Cameron Crowe's Showtime series, Roadies. White played road-tested tour manager Phil in a critically praised performance.

Live performances on a comedy stage remain the life-blood of Ron White, and after all these years, the fans still can't get enough. White maintains a rigid touring schedule, and plays to sold out crowds all over the country night after night. The industry also continues to take notice; in 2021, Ron White was nominated as Pollstar's Comedy Touring Artist of the Decade.

  • Awsome

The concert started late by about 30 -60 minutes. The stage was at the long end so the balcony seats (most of the seats) were to the side of the stage making it to where you had to turn to watch. The show it's self was awsome. Ron was very funny and so was his opening act. It would have been better had he had more new material but thats ok. at the end he did an extended joke part and brought out his dogs. Very cute!!

Ron White was hilarious!! It was all new material(from his Behavior Problems show) and he even made a few references to Tater Tot, LOL. He was freakin awesome, my friend and I couldn't stop laughing.

I loved this show. Ron White had us laughing from the minute he stepped onto the stage. This was by far the best comedy show I have seen. I would go see Ron again any time he comes to my town.. GREAT SHOW!!!!!!

  • Ron White Thawed Out Anchorage in a Hurry...

by Squeakywarrior on 7/11/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - AnchorageRating: 5 out of 5

Ron White was simply great and I'd recommend it to anyone of adult age. My only caution would be if your only exposure to "tater salad" has been the Blue Collar Comedy tour with Jeff Foxworthy - this show might be a bit "bluer" than you expected. Still if you don't mind an occasional crude reference or dirty (and I do mean DIRTY) story, then he'll make your buttons bust off your shirt. I haven't laughed that hard in literally, years. It was well worth a blush or two to get that belly sore from laughing. Best event of this type in Anchorage in years...

This was an outstanding comedy show. Ron had another guy with him named Alex Rodriquez that was equally as funny. I would go see either of these guys again in a heartbeat!!! I love watching the Blue Collar Comedy Tour on TV and having the opportunity to see Ron White in person was awesome!

He was amazing as always and so great to Alaska. Everything was absolutely hilarious and by the end of the night I couldn't laugh anymore. His opening act was great too.

  • Very disappointing

by EXRONWHITEFAN on 7/11/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - AnchorageRating: 1 out of 5

This show was a HUGE letdown. I saw most of his routines from the Blue Collor Comedy Tour and this show was no where near that. Most of the jokes were very vulgor, and mainly dealt with his obvious drug addition and gay sex. I was looking forward to this show and I nearly walked out halfway through. I tried to give him a chance. Even his opening act was terrible. He saw a police officer right off the bat and did nothing but complain about police and his extensive criminal history. I would never go to another show and I'll never recommend Ron White to anyone, which is very sad. He WAS one of my favorite Blue Collar comedians.

  • Ron White was hilarious!

We laughed until we cried and our sides hurt. All new material delivered flawlessly! Even the act that opened for him (sorry, can't remember his name) was great. The opener's trademark line was "Stop me if I'm lying" and he was a long-haired (pony tail) Hispanic. Totally great night of entertainment!

I've seen him twice, once in Juneau and most recently at this event in Anchorage. He is funny! I laughed outloud many times.
