About

Citing Gwen Stefani, Madonna, The Runaways and Nancy Sinatra as influences, singer and songwriter Sky Ferreira combines them all into her dancey up-tempo pop music with catchy hooks, electronic production and rock flourishes. Her full-length debut studio album Night Time, My Time was released in October 2013 with the single “You’re Not the One,” and she is set to support Miley Cyrus on her worldwide 2014 Bangerz Tour with Icona Pop. Ferreira played for ticket buyers in the U.K. in early 2013, as well as headlining her own U.S. tour with the likes of High Highs, How to Dress Well, and Smith Westerns, and opening concerts for Vampire Weekend. She signed with Parlophone Records in July 2009 and put out the singles “17,” “Obsession” and “One” in 2010. She released her first EP, As If!, in March 2011 on Capitol Records featuring the single “Sex Rules.” Her second EP, Ghost, was released in October 2012 with the synthy dance-pop single “Everything Is Embarrassing,” which was lauded as one of 2012’s best songs.

  • Beautiful, vulnerable and iconic

by KB on 6/2/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Sky Ferreira perform. I have always loved her music and her music has been healing for my soul. After reading about her, I expected the show to start two hours late as it did. I was just happy she was able to perform. She is clearly struggling with some OCD and mental health issues, but she sings beautifully and her vulnerability makes you feel supportive. She is iconic and just so pop synth Los Angeles grunge. I highly recommend if you like her Music to go to her shows. Just know that sometimes she is struggling like we all do.

  • Late

by eg on 5/29/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

Came on very late, around 10:15 (doors at 7) everybody was yawning by that time. Not the most entertaining stage presence

  • 2 hours late

by No longer a fan on 5/29/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

All the rumors are true. Published door time is 7p, show at 8p, and she didn’t take the stage until after 10p. No opener, no dj. Nobody was actually pleased when she took the stage and there were plenty of boos cause we were tired of waiting 3 hours for her to play. Then there were tech issues and she stopped the show several times! I can’t even review her performance cause it was so distracting how inconsiderate she was, and it was easily preventable. She even asked all the lights to be turned off so at one point I couldn’t even see what happened on stage. I can’t get my time back but I am requesting a refund for the lateness, and I’m never going to her show again.

  • Not worth the wait.

So misinformed. On the app it said show starts at 8 pm. She wasn’t on stage until 10. If she’s notorious for starting late, have everything start late. Not worth the wait. She was complaining about the lighting. Why was it not fixed during soundcheck??! The promoters should have had her on stage at 8 or have at least an opener or two. Never again.

  • Good concert…once it started

by KG on 5/28/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

She was 2 hours late, no opener, kept apologizing for technical issues. Was there no practice run? She sounded good though.

  • Amazing concert!

This was my third time seeing Sky Ferreira (the first 2x was 10 years ago). She was supposed to start at 8pm and as expected, she started the performance closer to 10pm. her fans knew this and most showed up late so the audience didn’t fill up until closer to 9:30p. We got there at 7pm when the doors opened, which allowed us to snatch a good section with a great view of the concert in the GE area. VIP would’ve been great but I didn’t want anyone obstructing my view if they were in front of me. There were areas that were taped off to create a walkway and we stood on the stage right section so nobody could obstruct our view, which I really appreciated having that walkway open so I didn’t have anyone blocking my view. Some annoying people would cross and push their way through when the concert started but security did a great job keeping the space empty for people to walk out of (near the end of the concert, more people tried to come closer and security had to keep redirecting them). Sky performed all of her songs on the setlist and more based on audience members who recommended Ghost and Night Time, My Time which was an awesome treat. I didn’t hear too many issues with her audio but Sky kept apologizing (she didn’t have to) and she performed 24 Hours twice since she didn’t like it the first time, which was also a nice treat. It was amusing when she tried to have all the lights off and that also made an interesting experience to listen to her performance in the dark! A lovely experience overall.

  • Great show

Sky was so great on stage, you could tell she was actually moved by the support from her fans. Her voice is so beautiful, I waited 10 years to see her live and she didn’t disappoint. I hope to see her perform again soon!

  • Pls arrive one time

by Astroplastic on 12/13/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Sky is an icon but it would have been nice if she had arrived on time and played her full set. There was obvious sound issues for her inner ears which is on paradise rock club and not sky but maybe with a sound check that could have been resolved. I would never go to Paradise rock club again unless I really loved the artist which is why I’ve unfortunately been there twice now.

  • 3 hours late

by Chocopup on 12/12/23Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 1 out of 5

The show was listed as 8-9:30 so I bought tickets for myself, my teenage daughter and her friend to go. We stood around for 3 hours waiting for the artist to come on. Finally we left since we live 90 minutes away and no one at the venue could tell us when or if the artist would take the stage. It’s stupid and disrespectful to the fans to make people wait around for hours. The next day my daughter saw social media posts from 1 am, that the artist actually played. Seriously- I wouldn’t have bought tickets if the show was advertised to start at 11 or 11:30 pm.

  • The show was meh

by laur on 12/12/23Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

I usually don't write reviews for artists but this show in particular was so poorly run and I've unfortunately heard the same from other fans. First the show was listed Doors at 7pm / Show at 8pm. I got to the venue around 7:45 and no one was allowed in yet. Got in at around 8:15 and waited until 10 for Sky to come on with no opener. She has a good voice but I could barely hear her over the blaring base/reverb to the point where I left the pit and stood in the back of the venue for the last 20 minutes of the show (it was barely an hour long set). Not sure how much was the venue's fault vs Sky's team but it was a pretty lousy show as someone who goes to concerts all the time. I've been at 50 person capacity shows that were significantly better than this. :/
