  • Surprisingly good

    by ConcertFan58 on 10/3/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

I got tickets for this concert mostly out of curiousity....a fan of Kevin Bacon the actor, curious about his music. It was a very good show! Kevin and his brother and their band played good music and had great stage presence. I'll be buying one of their CDs soon!

  • The Bacon Brothers Birchmere Oct 2 09

The whole band put on an excellent show! Great original music and good covers.... I was lucky enought to personally thank them for a good show in green room after the concert and they are very laid back and humble (and tired from the show). Their music made you want to get up and dance to several of the songs and some of the songs were quite thought provoking. A great venue for them and I think they would do well in larger one also. Hope they keep coming back for us in Alexandria but wherever they go it's a must see. The entire band is great!!!

OMG.....we all go to see if he's still the HUNK and he's totally still an awesome HUNK! Didn't catch a look at his shoes. The show was fantastic from beginning to end.....particularly liked Michael on the cello during the underwater number.....it so deftly demonstrated his musical versitality.......Kevin was very good on the Bongos too.........and of coure, the cowbell :-) Loved the song Soldlier On - it was excellent, I wonder if it's on a CD yet - I have three of their CD's - then Kevin broke into What makes A good Man........and the house joined right in....loving it all. If I had any criticism at all, it would only be to intersperse their tried true songs with the newly shared songs. michael appears to be the grounding force on stage, keeping everything running in a very smooth and well- paced fashion. Loved loved loved it all!!! Kevin is so entertaining even when he isn't playing....dancing around waiting for the "funky sound" to get just right. He is marvelously unpredictable......adore him!

  • The Bros were great

by Anonymous on 10/2/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time seeing the brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed their performance. Both brothers are very talented musicians and can sing. A fun evening, very entertaining. The cello playing by brother Michael was an unexpected surprise. I would definitely go see them again.

The Bacon Brothers show was very entertaining and very enjoyable. I wasn't sure what to expect since prior to this never knew their music. I had heard Kevin had joined his brother in a music venture but never followed thru. I was quite impress. I am now on the lookout for their cd's. I am looking forward to seeing their show again.

  • Bacon Brothers - a let down...

by debsay on 10/2/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 2 out of 5

I was really disappointed. I have seen them alot, and I didn't really care for the new music. AND, no Footloose. I am sure they get tired of playing it, but I never get tired of hearing it! This was probably my last Bacon Bros. concert. sigh......

I've seen a fan for over 10 years..while I love the sound of their music and think that both brothers are HIGHLY talented, this particular show for me did not have enough of mix of their repetoire. While I understand the need for everyone to hear the new album...there needs to be a blend of songs from older CD's in order to keep the fans coming. Old Guitars is their signature song and that wasn't even part of the show. Left me wanting more.

  • NOT too old for Playboy!!

by KidNurse on 9/26/09BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful time in an intimate setting. A fun new song written by Kevin is "Too old for Playboy, too young to die" - but the way he moved those jeans, he is DEFINATELY not too old! Old stuff, new stuff, all fun stuff - can't wait to see them again at B.B. King's in NYC on 10/15.

It was a thrill to see Kevin Bacon in person-he is truly one of the best talents of our day-terrific actor-stupendous dancer-amazing vocalist and instrumentalist! Thrilling is all I can say!!! His brother, Michael and the other members of the ensemble were fantastic, as well!! I would attend again tonight-if they were performing again tonight. Thrilling, thrilling and more thrilling!!! I loved the eclectic mix of music-the creativity with the original music-simply marvelous! Very gracious-thanking the audience after each number!! Thank you-Kevin and Michael for an unforgetable evening!!
