The Marías are the Grammy-nominated psychedelic-soul lovechild of Puerto Rican-bred, Atlanta-raised María Zardoya and Los Angeles native, Josh Conway. The two are joined by their closest friends, Jesse Perlman on guitar and Edward James on keys. Their undeniably intuitive musical chemistry can be heard in the band's smooth rendezvous of jazz percussion, hypnotic guitar riffs, smoke-velvet vocals and nostalgic horn solos. There's something undeniably sensual in their dreamlike fusion of jazz, psychedelia, funk and lounge. Since the release of their debut album, Cinema, The Marías have earned the reputation behind their impressive upward trajectory, including two Grammy nominations, a Billboard chart-topper and collaborations with some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny and Tainy.
Last summer, The Marías started a new chapter with their sophomore album: Submarine. Stepping back into the psychedelic indie rock roots that defined their breakout EP, Superclean, Submarine delivers on a feeling of nostalgia, a sense that you've been here before but the geography has evolved. Lead single from the project, "Run Your Mouth," introduces fans and audiences alike to this new immersive world, garnering over one million streams in its first week of release. Submarine was released to wide critical praise and debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Hit single "No One Noticed" from the album is currently peaking at #17 on Top 40 radio and marked the band's highest charting Billboard Hot 100 single to date, reaching #22. Continuing their charting success, The Marías currently have four songs on the Spotify Global 200 Chart; "No One Noticed" at #19, "Ojos Tristes" at #52, "Sienna" at #148 and "Heavy" at #173. The cinematic swells of their debut record have been traded for a sonically matured return to form for the album that Josh calls the "bookend to their trilogy," María's trance-inducing vocals transporting you to a place of solitude and exploration.
The Marías are currently performing at festivals throughout Latin America & Mexico and will be taking the stage at both upcoming weekends of Coachella. In the live show, The Marías are joined by Gabe Steiner on trumpet and Doron Zounes on bass. The detail that has defined their cinematic style off-stage is brought to life during their live performance as the group delivers striking visuals that beautifully compliment their dreamlike songs, creating an indisputably unique and seemingly transportive experience.

After being a fan of The Marías for a while now, I am so glad to have finally gotten the opportunity to see them live. And I must say that they did NOT disappoint. I never leave reviews but this time around I felt compelled to because my gosh.. what an incredible night! I haven’t been able to stop talking about how good of a time and experience I had at this show. For starters, y’all.. this venue could not have been any more perfect for their tour! touring their album Cinema inside a theater?! perfect fit. Even María commented on how she really liked it and found it fitting. As for the band as a whole, the entire band sounded phenomenal live. From María’s dreamy/angelic vocals (and Josh’s vocals) to the band’s impeccable playing throughout the night, it was almost hard to tell that this was a live version and not a studio recording (Idk how they do it). It sounded so smooth, kudos to all of the individuals who played their respective instruments so well and respect for the man on the trumpet, I loved it!! As for their set list, it was comprised of mostly songs from their new album Cinema yet still incorporated songs from their EP’s making for a perfectly balanced set. Lastly, María is so attentive! Not only did she interact with the crowd but at one point during the show she stopped to make sure everything was alright in the crowd before resuming. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for this band!
The energy that the Marias gave off was so amazing! The whole room was having a great time! Loved every second of it!
Beyond anything i could have ever imagined. Maria’s voice was so angelic I love it.
Concert was great but there was a couple right next to me and my friends that were dancing am taking up a lot of space in an already cramped location. They kept on shoving and pushing others and did nothing when we made them aware of it. Definitely annoying and wish there was someone there to pull them out.
it was so amazing! ahh!!! i loved every moment of it! the crowd was not it, though. i heard some people saying things like: “i’m just gonna search up the lyrics” or “that’s the only song ik” like you could’ve at least memorized the setlist… why are you even here bro? aside from that, the marías really mesmerized me. when they came out, i was literally in shock; i couldn’t believe it. i experienced so many emotions throughout the night. one minute i was dancing and singing to Un Millón (4) and the next i was crying my heart out to Heavy (8). i’m so glad the crowd sang my favorite part of Heavy because it made it so much more meaningful. although they didn’t play all the songs i wanted, at least they played Over the Moon—the song that changed my entire life. shoutout to the instagram explore page LOL. overall, it truly was such a beautiful and extraordinary experience. i got faded, which made it even better. i could feel the ground shaking, the colors were beautiful, maría’s voice was so angelic. josh deserves more recognition for his vocals. definitely the best night of my life <333
I know every word to each song, that’s how much I love maye AND the Marias. I had such a blast
I’ll start off by saying I’m an average fan of the Marias. They’ve got some good songs but I mostly got these tickets just to go see a show. That being said this was hands down the best live set I’ve ever seen. Absolutely insane solos, improvisation and execution. It was also way more upbeat than I thought it’d be. You literally COULDN’T resist dancing. Can’t say enough good things about this performance - and it 10/10 got me laid so what an added bonus, right? Big kudos to the Marias ❤️

They are the best, what a SHOW! I’ve seen them twice and they do not disappoint. The Valentine’s Day show was great cause they gave out roses/peonies. 10/10
The Marias were really amazing and Maria was amazing as a lead singer. She was very interactive with the crowd and we knew the words she was saying to us. It was so lovely and their stage presence is like no other. I would definitely see them again and they didn't play songs from just their Cinema album. They also did a standing ovation last song and came out again which was an extra treat. Their beanies were only $15 and the rest of the merch wasn't overpriced.
One of my favorite bands ever, their live show was something to experience. From the first chords, you know the music is gonna move you. Hope to experience it again soon!
The concert was great. What I love about the Foundry is it's intimacy, despite being in the back of the crowd I could see them clear as day. The Marias were absolutely amazing, sounded like I was listening on headphones. DEF would see them again, and return to the Foundry.
Music unbelievably great, interracted with fans, encored 4 songs, sang happy birthday, responded on Instagram. 10/10
