Georgia troubadour Tinsley Ellis has been immersed in music his whole life. Born in Atlanta 1957 and raised in southern Florida, he acquired his first guitar at age seven, inspired by seeing The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. Like many kids his age, Ellis discovered the blues through the back door of British Invasion bands like The Yardbirds, Cream and The Rolling Stones as well as Southern rockers like the Allman Brothers Band. 20 albums (and millions of miles traveled) later on record labels such as Alligator and Capricorn, Ellis has become an elder statesman of the blues world.
With his new project Tinsley Ellis - Acoustic Songs And Stories, Ellis performs many of his most popular songs (plus delta blues and classics by artists like Gregg Allman, Bob Dylan and Leo Kottke) on his 1937 National Steel and 1969 Martin D-35. Ellis weaves the music together with interesting and sometimes ribald stories from over 40 years of a life spent on stages and in motels and truck stops. Ellis shows no signs of slowing down and is headed your way with his newest and perhaps most unique project.

Disappointing show. One man and two guitars. Couldn’t have been any cheaper a performance. Lots of shouting instead of singing. Barely any blues guitar solo’s and a mix of ok songs.
Gregt evening with an outstanding bluesman. The venue at Antones was excellent and played well into Ellis's stroytelling and exquisite guitermanship. I'm lucky I got a chance to see him perform live. He exceeded my expectations.
Tinsley’s a talented musician and a great storyteller as well.
Great solo show! Just Tinsley and his guitar(s). He is always great but this was my first time seeing him in this format. He told some funny stories and you get to see his 1937 steel guitar in action.
warm setting at riverside revival in east nashville. tinsley is an amazing guitarist with roots running deep and stories to match.
This was my first time attending a show at District Live as well as hearing this artist. Neither disappointed! The setting is a small modern venue with nice acoustics and well stocked bar. Tinsley delivered a terrific show that displayed not only his mastery of the guitar but belting out the blues as well. An extra treat was his ability to share some nice stories along the way. The evening was GREAT!
First time at this location, enjoyed the performance there and look forward to attending again. I have enjoyed Tinsley's music for forty years and he is as great as ever.

The concert was upbeat - music was extremely good. Loved it, sorry the auditorium wasn't filled - they were worthy of a huge crowd
