  • Willy Wonka left me underwhelmed!

by Stpheez on 11/7/17Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Altho it was fun in certain places, the overall performances were not that great. John Stamos totally disappointed. I think the only bright spot was Weird Al Yankovic performing the Oompa Loopa song.

  • Love it!!

I liked the show. It would have been better if it was a sing along.

  • Wonka not worth the money

by Eckins on 11/7/17Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 1 out of 5

We love the movie but this event was underwhelming. The smell o rama was a scratch n sniff sticker. Some of the singers were not on their game that night. For $100 per ticket after fees, we expected more. We won't do a live to film event again

  • Not worth the price

    by Theatermama2 on 11/7/17Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

The special effects were great, but it seemed more like a local theater production. There were lags between the film and on stage performances and sound issues. And the announcing of the actors was awkward and took you out of of the moment. Scratch and sniff was a great idea, but didn’t really work as one or two scents dominated and that’s all you could smell.Performances were ok, not what I expected for a high price Hollywood Bowl ticket. I expected more for $100 a ticket.

  • Thank goodness for the movie

Such a horrific disappointment. The saving grace was the tremendous musicians, but the celebrities clearly had no rehearsal and had no business being on stage. The movie is so timeless and wonderful, we all would have benefited from just having the musicians play the score along with the film. Wildly disappointing and disjointed.
