  • Awesome!!

I am a lover of musicals and this one was great! I think it is geared towards younger people but the singing.....AMAZING!!!! Dorothy is just awesome. You will love the music of this play! Deborah Cox is on of the most underrated singers of our time!!!

  • Nothing short of spectacular!!!!🥰

From beginning to the end this show was pure broadway excellence, with an all African American cast....they showed up, showed out and made us very proud!!! Backdrops...lighting..orchestra....singing...dancing...OMGGG, I was in awe the entire 2+ hours!!! We were in San Francisco for the Warriors game that was postponed, plus it rained the ENTIRE wkend...nevertheless this event made up for all of that!! SFO you owe us nothing!! If it comes to your city, please support this great cast!!

The Wiz performed in Chicago was top tier 10/10. It gave all the good scenes from the movie. The singing was top tier, along with costume designs, and stage setting. The colors were vibrant! I love how they paid tribute to black culture! This show is for the culture! Hands down, absolutely AMAZING! I would see it again and again. I smiled the entire show! It just made me happy ! Job well done!

  • Cleveland 2023 - The Wiz

by Suzanne on 10/13/23Rating: 2 out of 5

We had high expectations for this rendition of The Wiz which was presented as part of the 2023 Cleveland Playhouse Broadway Series. My husband and I love musicals and have seen a wide variety of productions over the years and this unfortunately, just didn't work for us. The production did not live up to the quality expected for a major city touring production let alone being "Broadway bound"worthy. The most obvious weakness is the writing. Choppy, not particularly fluid dialog with poor transitions from scene to scene and humor that connected only about half the time. We were ready for it to be over well before the final curtain.

It wasn't as good as I expected. Some parts were good, but overall I thought the presentation could have been better.

  • Very poor live play performance I have ever been to.

Very poor live play performance I have ever been to. Singing was terribble, sound system was terrible the acting was terrible and stage prop was very teribble. We were very disappointed and upset we paid as much as we did for the play.

Our kids enjoyed it. The dancers were awesome, the singing was less than impressive and lacked energy. Overall good family outing

  • Should have been better

The play was very low budget for the amount per ticket and the costumes A stage props could’ve been so much better .I was very disappointed

It wasn’t what I expected. This was there version of the wiz. My expectations were too high. No criticism to the cast they did an ok good but this was more like a high school play...good luck to the producers

  • Middle School or High School Play

by VWS on 2/19/19BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 1 out of 5

Very disappointed in the quality of the production. They could have done so much more with the set design. They could have at least had a yellow brick road. And while the actors had nice voices, they were quite flat a lot of the time. Dancers were good. It was not worth the money we paid at all.
