  • Poor

by Ben on 2/3/25Rating: 1 out of 5

I have loved listening to Dement for several years. I had never heard her live...and never will again. The venue was great and the sound was wonderful. I stayed for three songs. Dement spent much more time talking liberal politics and how "WOKE"she is than playing music. I did not pay good money to go to a political rally.

  • Folk and Fun in Napa

by Avemichele on 12/17/24Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Iris Dement and her trio brought love, heartache, humor and hope to the Uptown. Iris is timeless. Her voice is special and her message is what makes folk music and America truly great.

  • Amazing Show

Iris Dement never disappoints. Amazing show. Didn’t want it to end.

  • Pleasant but painful

    by Esmeralda on 12/7/24Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was good but the seat was so uncomfortable to sit on for 2hours. I had to finally stand in the back because I couldn’t sit any longer. Won’t be going back to the Rialto anytime soon.

  • Fantastic

    by Jim on 12/6/24Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Iris DeMent is a joy! Her music is compelling, her banter is totally interesting and entertaining and her 2 piece all girl band is perfect! Iris was in fine voice at Tucon's Rialto and she gave a remarkable 2 hour show that covered her entire career. She looked like a very relaxed million bucks. Expected was a tribute to her hubby Greg Brown...surprising were her tributes to the great gospel goddess, Mahalia Jackson and the legendary Carter Family. Come back to Tucson anytime, Iris, you ARE loved, as you could tell from the audience's approval!

  • Memorable

by Gandalf on 8/21/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

-Iris is a national treasure -acoustics, seating, climate control at Bijou all good. -convenient to hotels/restaurants for us out of town guests

  • Music great.

by Di on 8/20/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Music great. Dement and her female band took two songs to get together, but then we're terrific. Bijou staff very helpful with need for seating accommodations. Very appreciative!

  • Great show, great artist

by Comedy Fan from Tennessee on 8/20/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Iris Dement brought a great performance, an excellent trio, and endearing humor and charm to her Bijou Theatre show in August. It was wonderful to hear her voice and playing on her classic songs old and new. Her accompanying musicians were so great, too!

  • A downer!

by Harriet on 8/20/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

The first couple songs were nice, but it took a turn and the next hour or more she did horribly dreary, depressing songs. The last 3 songs were good.

  • Poor articulation!

by Jerry on 8/20/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Overall, sound was nice, but I could not understand her words most of the time. Either she needs to articulate better, or the sound system was bad. I compared the Bijou experience to her recordings, and it was like night vs day. I can understand all her words on the recordings.
