  • Jon Anderson & thr Band Geeks

by Virgil on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

Jon Anderson's was strong & spot on, the band was excellent playing the very complex, prog rock music of Yes. The new tunes Anderson wrote with the band was a Highlight of the show. A very spiritually fulfilling and positive experience all the way around.

  • Jon Anderson - Fantastic Yes music

by Baz on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

I love to see Jon Anderson doing all the old Yes songs. Even though the other members aren't in his band the stand in's are very good musicians and do a excellent job at recreating the old yes songs. Of course he has the original voice so the most important part is there. The Iconic Yes singing!! Takes you to another world. One of my favorite of all time bands.

  • Jon Anderson Concert

by Phil on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

Jon is still phenomenal! He hasn't lost a note! As angelic and spiritual as ever! And the Band Geeks are awesome! Of course I will always cherish YES (the real one), but I am so honored to have heard Jon sing YES songs once again. Same tears, same chills! Ans I can't say enough good things about the new album, TRUE. It could easily be a YES album. Wonderful songs! Long live Jon Anderson!

  • The Voice Hasn’t Changed

by Mar L. on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

It’s been almost 41 years since the first time I saw YES. April 30, 1984 to be exact at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and that voice of Jon Anderson and the music of YES hasn’t changed. I would always love to see them perform live over and over again.

  • Awesome

What a great show, Jon sounded just like back in the day, the band was great

  • EXCELLENT performance, very poor venue sound

by Lifelong Yes fan and musician on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 3 out of 5

The performance was excellent, and Jon amazing. However, the sound mix and quality was very poor and substandard to other shows on this tour. The sound crew appeared to be local staff rather than band's sound crew which are likely used in larger cities/venues. This impression was reinforced by the absence of any background light show/projection used in other shows on this tour. Overall, extremely disappointing because the Jon and the Band were superb.

  • Awesome show

by Alan C on 4/14/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

The musicianship was amazing. That Jon can still sing at this level at 80 is astounding. The near lack of a light show was surprising. Just some lights on a curtain backdrop. Maybe that was a limitation of this particular venue? Probably the closest my son will ever get to experiencing the Yes shows I experienced in the 70s & 80s (& beyond).

  • Incredibly great

Jon Still has it! The Geeks have embodied the soul of YES. Their new music is fantastic!

  • John Anderson in Sacramento

Excellent show, John sounded fantastic at the prime age of 78yrs young! The audience was great and the staff at Safe Community Center did an outstanding job with their professionalism! Thx 😊

  • Magnificent Concert!!

by Sue on 4/13/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Last night I saw Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks for the third time. I saw the reviews section while looking to see if there were any other locations he was playing that I could possibly get to. The show was amazing, powerful, spiritual, rocking. We all sang, danced and rocked out. Jon is amazing. He sounds fantastic. He engages the audience. He’s a true rock legend without the ego of other rock legends. He misses a word or two of the lyrics but really who cares? And who wouldn’t with lyrics that complicated? I’ve probably seen Yes in concert 50 times. I only saw Yes without Jon once. Jon was the heart and soul of Yes and it’s just a mediocre cover band without him. I am not interested in dull shows without Jon. The new band has surprised me. The band geeks were good last summer. Not exceptional but good. It was a really fun show. Now, almost a year later it’s astounding how much they’ve improved. They have tightened up and are performing the really difficult Yes music beautifully. I only caught one error in the concert Tuesday and didn’t notice any on Friday. They are really coming together well and doing an amazing job on this tough music. Yes with Squire and White will never be again. These guys have filled the shoes well. The Geek band brings in fresh blood that is playing well and working together well. If you’re a hardcore Yes fan you’ll appreciate the heart and soul of Yes and amazing voice of Jon, and really good band. If you’re a casual Yes fan you’ll have a great time rocking out with an awesome legend of rock.

  • Memorable concert

    by Eric H. on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Tickets were reasonably priced, so I was able to afford very good seats, close to the stage. Jon and his band came out and just kept getting better as the show progressed. They played some of the classic Yes songs, and some beautiful new songs that I had never heard before. Jon appeared to be so modest and down to earth and I could tell he was doing the music from a very spiritual place. Definitely doesn't do it for money, and doesn't act like a rock star. He had a very gentle and kind vibe, and the performance was nothing short of magical at times. His band was awesome too. I could tell they appreciated the enthusiasm of the audience, and we were standing, clapping, dancing, and singing along. Really a great time!

  • Wonderful show

by SF Don on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Jon’s voice was fantastic at 80 years young and the Band Geeks are great musicians that have brought new energy into the Yes world of music. Go see this show!!

  • Incredible show!

    by Johnny K on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable that Jon Anderson is 80 years old. He sounds (and moves) like he did 50 years ago. The Band Geeks are fantastic as well. Lots of old songs, and some new ones too. Fox Theatre is a great venue.

  • Classic album sides

by Al on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Went to a Jon Anderson concert and an early 1970’s Yes concert broke out. The band played classic album sides, hit every note, and Jon Anderson still has it. The crowd was highly appreciative and delivered on multiple standing ovations.

  • Jon Anderson & Music Geeks

by Eileen on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

What a spectacular pleasure to see Jon Anderson still has the pipes he always had and the enthusiasm and ability to charge an audience and fill everyone with joy! So great to hear the music of Yes again. I think everyone was either smiling or laughing the whole time, just to see this great artist perform these wonderful songs. I loved it.

  • The Voice of Yes!

by Rpperkins on 4/11/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Hard to imagine that Jon Anderson is 80 years old and sounds as good as he does. Lots of energy on the stage as well. It was very good to hear so many classic songs from the Yes catalog.. The Band of Geeks is a great ensemble of musicians.

  • Magical!

    by Nikki P on 4/9/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Jon Anderson proves to be a true music legend at 80 years old, being able to sing beautifully with his crisp, clear voice,(yes he needs the words on a monitor, who would that 80?) and his band being all very talented players, one from BOC.. It was amazing to watch, and listen to! The venue is nice and clean (the bathrooms were amazingly clean with an attendant cleaning as we use the facility. I thanked her for cleaning up). The food, although a sparse menu, was tasty and the prices were decent. The drinks didn't have prices on the menu, and were outrageous! We ordered 2 draft beers (different brands, but they looked and tasted the same) and they were $33.58 for the pair! Michelob and Stella that tested like light Michelob, and yes, I asked which one was Stella because they looked the same! I wished I had known that, but it was too busy to ask the prices. I could have had a mixed drink (not that I wanted that, a frozen drink would have been better, but they don't serve those), but the whole night was great, so it doesn't matter much. They just need to list the prices, because when it is so busy it's time consuming to ask. Also, the steps in the orchestra level are too dim, and I almost tripped, but grabbed the railing in time. They were dimly lit, but not bright enough. Many steps to take down there in the pit. Comfy seats. This was at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Despite having lived in Oakland for 2 years, and SF for 32 years, I've never been there. Was a little hesitant to go back to Oakland, but it was fine. A little hard to find the highway to return to SF to go back in the dark. It's very deserted around there. Most performers don't come to SF anymore, when they should. Hopefully our new Mayor will help improve things. Our last Mayor practically destroyed what was once a great city ( before I arrived, anyway). If you go to the Fox Theater, ask about the drink prices so you don't get sticker shock! Jon Anderson was awesome, though, so if you are thinking of attending his concert, please do!

  • The ageless prog guru.

by Maitaimike on 4/8/25Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Many YES fans have wished they could had setteled their differences before Chris Squires passing. I did see the band with Benoit David, and Jon Davidson fronting, but it just wasn't the same. AWR put on a great show a few years ago here at this venue (Grove of Anaheim). Richie Castellano, and his very capable band gave us a classic YES setlist, and introduced new songs from the recently released "TRUE"album. The crowd was very receptive to the new music, it blended well with the always in-demand 70's era classics. Jon's vocals had all the range, emotion & power I have lisened to in the past. Quite remarkable for the 80 year old singer. Both myself, and my fellow hard core YES fan agreed, this ranks up there with some of the best Yes music preformances period! Having two Keyboardists added to the rich sound palette of YES music. The video screens were sometimes a distraction, but the F.O.S. sound had Jon's vocals prominent in the mix. Having seen the various personel changes since the 1975 Hollywood Bowl show during the 'RELAYER"tour, many of the 24 plus shows I have attended are still etched in memory. The sound here was excellent! The only dissapointment of this show was they gave no encore. Was this planned? I was hoping for "Heart of the Sunrise."Oh well, maybe next time.

  • As great as ever!

by Marc on 4/6/25Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Jon's vocals sounded as pure as they did 50 years ago. My first concert was Yes and I hope he'll continue to tour for many years.

  • Who's Better: Jon Anderson Band or Steve Howe Band?

by Spike on 4/6/25Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

Jon Anderson was fantastic! He still is able to hit those high notes and may "once or twice"forget a word in one or two songs. Bottom line - even though YES current (also named Jon) Lead Singer is good Jon Anderson is Superior. Also, his "Band of Geeks"also performed well (especially the Bass Guitarist and Guy on Drums). Although their Lead Guitarist did well he is no Steve Howe. In summary, if I had to choose between seeing YES again- OR Jon Anderson with The Band Of Geeks; I hands down would see YES again.
