What a fantastic show! Paul Taylor was personable, and awesome! I can't wait until he comes back again. Him and his musicians really rocked! They looked like they were having a great time. This needs to be an annual event.

  • Taylor & Groove were fantastic

by GAJO on 11/8/15Gem Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Two of my favorite contemporary jazz artists whose music is even better in person. The passion and energy they put into their performances accented their music and resulted in an exceptional evening. One hour of each just wasn't enough. This was my first time seeing them in person and I'm already looking for the next opportunity to see them again. The GEM theater was also a pleasant surprise and a great venue for a musical performance. Clean, modern, reasonably priced beverages and free local on-street parking. The staff was pleasant and helpful also.

  • What an amazing evening!

    by Weezie54 on 11/8/15Gem Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure in attending the Paul Taylor and Euge Groove concert at the Gem, in KC. I had not heard of either of these two gentlemen before.( My husband is the jazz fanatic.) Well, I was blown away by both of the performances! Paul Taylor had the place "rocking"! He's such a talented and soulful performer! I loved every minute of him playing. At intermission , I quickly went out and bought his CD and had my picture taken with him! I'm a new fan!!! Euge Groove bought the " old school" to the Gem. So entertaining and laid back. He had the women out of their seats, shaking their booties to his groove~! My husband already had his CD, so we didn't need to purchase one. These two gave us a 5 star performance! I was hoping they would because we drove from Waterloo, Iowa to KC to hear them play! They didn't let us down. Fabulous Night!

  • Euge Groove, one hard working sax man!

Excellent show at intimate Gem Theatre, KCMO. Paul Taylor and Euge Groove really compliment each other. The back up band seemed to work well with both front men.

  • Paul Taylor and euge groove

Music was very inspired. However the quality of sound was like something out of a garage. Couldn't understand what either artist was saying, guitar high notes were not clear, etc.

  • EXTRAORDINARY!!!!

by PiscesDeidre on 3/22/11Mable House Barnes - MabletonRating: 5 out of 5

The man is AMAZING!!! I was actually able to go on stage with him while is was performing. An experience I will never forget. I am listening to "Pleasure Seeker" at this very moment while at work on my ITouch. Hopefully he will return soon and get the crowd he derserves. I do not feel it was on the radio enough or given enough acknowledgement to allow Jazz lovers to be made aware of his show. Atlanta allowed our wonderful Jazz station (WJZZ) to go off the air. If we still had it, Mable House Barnes would have sold out. I did not find out until 4:00 pm on the same day of the performance, but you better believe I made it!!! LOVE YOU PT!!!!
