Concert was Great!! Awesome venue, I felt like it was 1967 all over again. These guys are truly rock n roll legends.
Venue and band were both great. First time for both for me. Very low attendance, but didn’t seem to detract from the band’s performance or viewers enthusiasm. Will be back even though it’s a long drive. Highly recommend for both band and venue.
Small crowd, but very nice to see the boys again. I saw them at Jaxx in Springfield Virginia back in ‘07. Have their autographs at that time. ✌🏾🐻
I was never a big fan of VFbut after this concert, I am. Tremendous singing, musicianship and a set of songs we all know--because the are covers--some of which that were hits for VF. Appice on drums and Stein on keys and vocals were the highlights. A must see.
50 years together this year they sound better than they did it 1967, I catch them every year at BB Kings. I bring 3 different friends each time I go and they always say UNREAL. The harmony and showmanship are beyond compare, The sound is better than the records. I don't know how they do it. Long live the FUDGE
VF's instrumental and vocal arrangements of cover tunes have always been considered by music fans as highly creative and original. They are exceptional musicians who inspire other musicians to emulate.
Memo to V Fudge: I love it that you guys, close to 70, are still up there playing, and that at least a few hundred folks would come out to see you. New bass player, Pete, unfamiliar with you.. Vinnie, stop singing. If you want to see how a 70 year old can retain singing and playing chops, go see dave mason or peter frampton. Carmine, you look great. Your drum solo was very interesting. You still master those Long Island/New Jersey doo wop back up harmonies. And you can still knock those cans around. That's the good news. Bad news: stop posing. You look silly. And finally, Mark Stein. You were always a strong inventive player and you still are. And you've retained the vast majority of your voice. You made a weak-ish set strong. But the wig. Oh my. Still and all, (and Little Steven, I hope you're reading this), you guys were miles better than the Rascals on Broadway.
The band is as dynamic as in 1967. The vocals, harmony, arrangements, and solos were on the money. It seemed that no time had elapsed since last we met. Since I was close to the stage, the visuals were great, but at times the music was too loud. The bass beat found its way to my iinsides. The Fudge seems timeless. Carry on gentlemen!
I first heard Vanilla Fudge when I was 10 or 11 years old. I secretly loved the album, playing it in secret in my room when no one was around. I always felt they did something very special. Flash forward 48 years later, my son secretly stealing my album and apparently feeling the same way. I mentioned to him they were indeed still around and coming to Milwaukee! Well the family along with son's girlfriend in tow made to the show and were astonished. 4 extremely professional musicians and hard working entertainers reminded us of what a rock show should be. No gimmicks just awesome musicianship. Mark and Carmine would put any band to shame. Must see!!
Icons of the late '60's and early '70's, The Fudge recreated history on Friday, 10/16/2015. Known for their unique soulful, interpretation of other artist's songs coupled with amazing individual vocal and instrumental virtuosity, they delivered impressively. Each artist had their turn to own the spotlight and they all still have the ability leave the audience awestruck. Harmonies were as sweet as the band's name and it was a pleasure to hear the original members; Mark, Vinnie and Carmine wax about the old days, but still speak, sing and play in the now. Thank you, gentlemen for coming to MKE!
it was a great concert..enjoyed tremendously.we had great seats we got some good pictures and would recommend my friends and family to go see vanilla fudge.the lighting and sound effects were just right.we enjoyed the concert very much .and telling all my friends about the vanilla fudge concert .
On April 26 I had the opportunity to see live one of my favorite bands growing up. The Vanilla Fudge. It was exciting to finally get to see them live and hear one of my favorite songs of all times, their classic version of Keep Me Hangin' On. I paid the extra $$$$ to sit in the second row at Westbury Music Theatre. They came out and played with emotion and feeling. They did a great version of People Get Ready. In my opinion, the entire set was setting the stage for the finale - Keep Me Hangin'On. That is exactly what they did, they left the stage after Season of the Witch and kept everyone "hanging on". Everyone was expecting them to come back and play their ONLY hit - Keep Me........ How do you not give the fans what they came to hear? I hope there was a good reason for their total disregard of their longtime fans. I for one played the organ growing up and played their hit over and over. To this day it is one of my favorite songs. It was a sad night for Vanilla Fudge fans. Thank God Felix Calvarie and his Rascals did not disappoint as he found the time to entertain his fans and give them what they came to hear.
Fantastic show always great to see the Fudge. Did some new songs and old. Great performance. Band did a meet and great. Of course drum solo by Carmine. He's awesome all original members except for bass player. Tim Bogert has retired
This is at least the fourth time I've seen "The Fudge" at BB Kings' Club. They never fail to put on a great show. They played some new songs like "The Letter and "Gimme some Lovin" as well as many of the favorites like" Shotgun" and "Ticket to Ride". They played for 2 hours non-stop.
The Vanilla Fudge performance at BBKing's was awesome. The group still has it and more !!! It was a great mix of songs of old and new. The musicians also got a chance to "do their thing" and they were amazing. It was a solid 90 minutes of rocking and rolling.
Fun, energetic, and awesome rock show!! Cannot wait until the next show!
They played all their classics. 1st heard them when I was 15 and they keep getting better. This band is so tight you'd think you where listening to their recordings. Rock On!!
I've come out to see them several times in the past couple of years in several different venues and they ALWAYS put on a great show!! This time they included songs from their new CD in between the great songs of their past. They do a Meet & Greet after the show with all the band members, at no extra charge!!! And they happily sign pictures, drum heads and anything else you bring! I'll never put off an opportunity to see them!!
They sound like a well-oiled machine. Excellent musicians, good voices and harmonies. A wonderful time.
They didnt miss a beat. New songs from the "Spirit of 67" are right on! If you can catch this performance, do so. You will not be disappointed.
